Mayfields Business Advisors is a specialist business advisory practice. We work with small to medium business owners and directors to identify and implement effective and economical solutions to business cash flow, liquidity and solvency problems.

We can act in the capacity of advisor to the business owner, or as external administrator, depending on the circumstances of a matter and where the greatest value-add lies. Our services include:

  • Identification of appropriate and economical solutions to business cash flow problems via formal or informal means;
  • Design and implementation of informal business turnaround strategies;
  • Representation and advocacy for directors in negotiations with business and personal creditors and other stakeholders;
  • Assistance to directors to comply with Corporations Act obligations;
  • Acceptance of appointments as external administrator where this is the appropriate course.

Where possible and appropriate, we look to identify and implement informal solutions to business illiquidity. We approach each new matter with an open mind as to whether a formal or informal solution would best suit the circumstances.    At the initial meeting, undertaken without charge or obligation, we provide a frank and honest assessment of the implications of alternatives available to the business owner or director.

Services Offered:

Business Insolvency Services

We specialise in identifying and implementing economical and practical solutions for all business trading performance and solvency related problems.

Insolvency is generally defined as the debtor's inability to pay all its debts as and when they fall due for payment. Your business may be insolvent if it has unpaid taxation or superannuation debts, or there are insufficient funds available to pay trade creditors and other liabilities on the due date.

Preparation of Businesses for Sale

Preparation for the sale of a business should commence at an early stage, ideally three years before the intended sale date.   Buyers may only place a premium value on a business if it can demonstrate a solid track record of profitability, or has strong growth potential. Getting these things right is critical to maximising the value of your business.

Business Turnaround and Profit Improvement Services

Not sure what represents a fair rate of return on your business investment?

Many business owners struggle to earn a commercial return on the funds they have invested in their business.  Some could make more money working for wages.

Every business should have specific, measurable financial goals to be reached over the next three to five years and beyond, through to the expected sale date or retirement of the owner.  A realistic and achievable business plan and a system to measure and monitor your business's performance are essential planning tools to ensure your business stays on track to achieve its financial objectives.
