Bates Advanced Driving is owned and operated by Rick Bates. Rick has extensive experience in the driver training field and is well known in the region for his successes in rallying and circuit racing.
Bates Advanced Driving offers courses in defensive driving, skidpan car control, rally driving and high performance. Rick is an experienced precision driver, performing a large number of television commercials and magazine shoots. He has directed several successful vehicle launches both on and off shore.
Bates Advanced Driving has a long involvement in driving courses and has been conducting Defensive Driving Courses in Canberra at the Sutton Road Driver Training Centre for ten years.

Services Offered:Defensive Driving Bates Advanced Driving focus’ our Defensive Driving Course on developing a reasonable and defensive attitude. Our experience is that drivers with the correct attitude detect and avoid potentially dangerous situations before they reach the stage where an accident is possible.
Skid Pan Control The skidpan course will safely enable you to put your car into more urgent situations and fine tune your car control skills.
Rally Driving The forest sections used for the training are leased from ACT Forests and in extreme weather conditions, such as total fire bans or prolonged heavy rain, the forest is closed and courses cannot be held.
High Performance Driving If you enjoyed our Defensive Driving Course and the Skidpan Car Control Course but you are still hungry for more then perhaps the High Performance Driving Course is what you are looking for.
