The Association of Taxation and Management Accountants (ATMA) is  a Recognised Tax Agent Association and an independent association of professional accountants whose members include practitioners working in small business and who focus on taxation, management accounting and small business management.

The ATMA exists to promote the welfare and professional development of its members and, to represent its members' special interests and needs. Because of its niche in the accountancy market, it is the organisation with grass roots contact with members.

The Membership Consists of:

The ATMA is an RTAA and we may be able to help you.

 

The ATMA offers training for SMSF Auditors, Public Practice Certificate Workshops, Business Planning Workshops, BAS Basics Workshops for our members.


Services Offered:

Role of ATMA - Aims & Objectives:

  • To provide a forum for representation to government and statutory bodies on issues of interest to members.
  • Remain receptive and responsive to members' needs and interests.
  • Monitor and inform members of developments in the taxation and management areas of accountancy.
  • Conduct seminars and conferences on topics of wide business interest to members, kindred bodies and the business, commercial and industrial communities.
  • Grant membership to graduates with an accounting major without the need for further qualifications.
  • To admit qualified accountants who possess the required educational standards and experience, as determined by the ATMA Membership Committee.
  • Promote excellence by sponsoring academic prizes at Australian universities for outstanding students in Taxation Law and Management Accounting achieved in a degree course majoring in accounting.
  • Obtain widespread recognition for the ATMA in the commerce, industry and accounting profession.
  • Foster relationships with other professional bodies and kindred professional organisations.

How to Join
For a limited time only you can apply for admission to the ATMA based on your tax agents registration for admission at an appropriate professional level of membership. If admitted you will be eligible, if you are a Registered Tax Agent, to apply for a Public Practice Certificate.

 

If you are a member of a Recognised Tax Agent Association (RTAA), and you are a registered tax agent, but you do not have a Public Practice Certificate (PPC) from your RTAA, the ATMA may be able to help you. You will be required to complete a 2 day ATMA PPC Workshop.
