Quality System
A key element of our Firm is our Quality Management System, certified under Law 9000:2004 Legal Best Practice Program.
Rather than simply providing an internal administrative structure, our quality system is audited regularly by SAI Global and the benefits are evident in every action we undertake for our clients.
Our certification provides recognition of the Firm's client-focused procedural and operational structure. Meyer Vandenberg is the only independent law firm in Canberra to be accredited under this quality management system. Our certification ensures we maintain our leading position with our advice, administration and financial management.
Our quality system also provides a structure for us to consistently adhere to our Firm's recognised values, thereby continuing to offer a quality product and protect our place in the market.
Our QMS reflects our values of:
- Trust
We must trust ourselves, our colleagues and our clients. If we trust others, they will in turn have trust in us.
- Integrity (as practitioners in our actions, motives and dealings)
It is imperative that we have integrity in our dealings with our clients, our staff, fellow practitioners and members of our community. This value encapsulates a number of other core values and includes honesty, sound principles and being forthright in all of our dealings.
- Respect (for our clients, our colleagues, the legal system and the rule of law)
We must have respect for:
- Our clients. Respect for our clients is paramount. In all dealings we must understand our clients' needs and respect their opinions. Our role is to advise and assist our clients but not to make decisions for them.
- Our colleagues. Respect for our colleagues goes hand in hand with recognition, understanding, valuing and appreciating them.
- The legal system and the rule of law. We must understand the parameters in which we work and the rule of law as an ideal within our society.
